As the final show in the annual Harrogate Comedy Festival, the Hyena Lounge Closing Gala is always a highlight featuring a line up of acts that are more in a variety style than the usual monthly stand-up comedy focused affairs, and this year is no exception

Headlining the show is MICKY P KERR, one of the finalists of this year’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and recent internet sensation with his songs about Leeds United. Originally a musician, the Yorkshire comedian and social commentator is a breath of fresh air fusing together music, spoken word and comedy, with his tongue often planted firmly in his cheek. In June he was rocketed to stardom when he won the hearts of the nation and wowed both Simon Cowell and Andy Murray’s mum with his performances on Britain’s Got Talent with his numerous performances on the show seen by tens of millions.

Fitting right in with the variety theme of the show, opening act, THE KAGOOLS are a multi award-winning physical comedy duo brimming with wit and imagination. Since their first full-length show in 2014, they’ve quickly gained critical acclaim and fans all round the world with their unique brand of wordless (but far from silent) spontaneous, anarchic buffoonery.

Comedian and television personality, STEPHEN BAILEY takes the show’s middle slot with his friendly and open brand of gossipy humour making him one of the most sought after acts in UK comedy today. Recently, Stephen made his presenting debut as host of Channel 5’s newest reality show ‘Celebs On The Farm’ which delighted audiences when it aired in the summer. He has also be seen weekly as the resident agony uncle on ITV1’s ‘Zoe Ball On Saturday & Sunday’, made numerous appearances on Channel 5’s ‘Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit on the Side’ and even had a small part in ‘Coronation Street’! He has supported Katherine Ryan & Jenny Eclair on their UK tours and is embarking on a brand new solo tour next spring with his brand new show.

CHARLIE HOPKINSON performs his winning routine from this year’s Comedian Of The year competition that mixes comedy with impressions of characters from popular films and TV shows as well as prominent figures from popular culture. He has already picked up several awards this year and his voice can be heard on several TV shows. We expect huge things from him and can’t wait to see how his career develops.

JASON COOK is the evening’s Master Of Ceremonies proving why he is one of the very best hosts in the country.
