Al Pitcher

Al Pitcher sits firmly in the improvising, rambling, freewheeling comedy camp inhabited by the likes of Ross Noble and Eddie Izzard. However, unlike both of them, Pitcher is one of the best-kept secrets on the comedy scene.

In 2009 The Al Pitcher Picture Show won three awards: Time Out Sydney People’s Choice, Best Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival, and Newcastle/Gateshead Festival Director’s Pick of the Fest.
As well as his stand-up, Al was controversially (being a Kiwi…) the voice of Fosters Lager, has written for BBC Radio 1 and provided TV warm-up for Argumental (Dave) Two Pints of Lager and A Packet of Crisps (BBC3) and The Cube (ITV1). From 2008-2010 Al featured regularly on BBC6 Music’s Jon Richardson Show and stars in the new series of Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC3)
