Get Christmas going with a jolly good ho ho ho at our best baubles yet!
Adam Bloom was also originally supposed to be the headline act at this year’s Christmas Baubles Show at City Screen, however he has to dash back to London to move house so in a change to the advertised bill, ‘Hollyoaks’ & ‘Casualty’ star JAMES REDMOND fills the gap.
A genuine household name having firstly spent five years on ‘Hollyoaks’ playing Finn on the show before quitting the series to partner Cat Deeley presenting ‘SMTV Live’ and ‘CD:UK’, replacing popular duo Ant & Dec.
He is now perhaps most noted for his role as Abs Denham in the BAFTA-winning medical drama ‘Casualty’, which he joined in 2003. Redmond remained on the show for five years until he quit in 2008 after 215 episodes to pursue his first love – stand up comedy. He has spent the last three years ‘under the radar’ trying to establish himself as a top headline act without the attention of the tabloid press and it’s clear that his mix of self-deprecating material and insiders perspective on being a TV star is working well on the comedy circuit and delighting audiences wherever he performs. It’s surely only a short amount of time before he’s once again a fixture on our TV screens but this time as a highly respected comedian.
No, not that one… Comedy’s Chris Martin is a charming and talented stand-up who over-thinks the most ridiculous aspects of life. He is one of the most exciting new acts to hit the comedy circuit, bringing intelligent material as well as simple immature jokes to any room.
Tight and well structured, his matter-of-fact, dryly witty observations on life never fail to hit the mark. His wholly original social commentary, observations and anecdotes are his signature.
He has supported Al Pitcher on his National Tour and in 2010 his podcast with Carl Donnelly was selected by The Guardian in their ‘Top 10 Comedy Podcasts’ and was described as ‘one of the funniest podcasts out there’.
Over the past few years Tiernan Douieb has supported the likes of Jim Jefferies and Russell Howard and has worked as warm up for Mark Watson’s ‘We Need Answers’, and BBC1’s ‘Dick and Dom’s Funny Business’.
He invented and ran the world’s first ever Twitter Comedy Club with an estimated 14000 viewers and international press, and is part of the highly acclaimed ‘London Comedy Improv’ alongside Rufus Hound, Tara Flynn, Brendan Dempsey and Michael Legge.
Tiernan is also a skilled performer of Comedy 4 Kids – clean shows for children aged 6-11 and their parents, so he is adept at dealing with anyone who want to ‘be a duck’ when they grow up.
“He skilfully moves from topic to topic like a pro, and his simple observational humour is refreshing.” – Three Weeks
